As the temperature are almost reaching 40°C, I will stay on topic with tropical pictures straight out from the basins of the Aquarium Porte Dorée. We had not gone back to this venue since 2009 but one afternoon we were close-by we decided to pop-in and visit with my in-laws.

I’m always shared between the pleasure of enjoying a quiet, affordable and interesting place and disappointment in regards to the antiquated state of the basins. In some aquariums, the fishes seemed crammed and there are still descriptions and names missing.

The aquarium is located in the basement of The Museum of the History of Immigration in the Palais de la Porte Dorée in which was once located the Universal Exhibition pavilion of the French Colonies. On Instagram, The Best in Paris remarked that this museum was worth paying a visit. Unfortunately, I have not had time yet to discover this museum even though the subject is passionating.
